# Logstash output best practice

Hello,

we want to create a good scaling elastic cluster with:

- at least 3 master nodes
- coord nodes
- a lot of data nodes
- machine learning nodes
- ingest node ( for cases, where using logstash is not possible)

also we have multiple logstash instances.  
which type of elasticnode is the best practice in logstash output ?  
[i found this link](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/best-practice-with-logstash-output-and-es/95189/3) in the forum. "it should be non master nodes". But which node would be the best?

This appears to be an elasticsearch question, not a logstash question. You could try moving it to the right forum...
