# Logstash S3 output gzip empty files

I was so excited to see that file compression is available on the release on github!

I tried it and noticed that I was getting empty files with a size of 20 bytes being posted into S3 when a time\_file event is triggered and no log data is pushed. Did anyone else run into this?
