# Logstash with long GC

Hi,

I still using Logstash 1.4.2 and in the last week begin a Long GC problem.

I dont have any filters in this logstash(s) and I use only to ship logs to redis.

There's some thing can create this problem in Logstash? maybe large log files?

How big is the JVM heap? What's the heap utilization? Do you use any tcp inputs? IIRC 1.4.2 (which is really old) had a memory leak in the tcp input (also affecting other inputs based on that plugin).

I use the default Xmx Option. In Logstash 1.4 is 500Mbs and in 2.1.1 is 1024Mbs...

I don't use TCP input 🙂
