# Lucene 2.9 Support

Hi All

I have a index created with lucene 2.9. Can I move this index for the  
elasticsearch? Wich version i must use?

You can not "move" existing Lucene indices under ES. Right now ES supports  
Lucene 3.x version. You need to reindex your documents into new ES index.
