# Mapping types

Hi,

I have some mapping issues and I am wondering if it is possible to query the conflicting field and get the mapping for it in each index?

while reading [the docs](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/indices-get-field-mapping.html) a bit better I discoverd one can do:

> GET \< index \>/\_mapping/field/\<field\_name\>

Solved my own problem 🙂
