# Merging indices from old server

Hello,

I need to merge the data of an index from the old server into the new one. The data has been accumulating over a month now in the new server. should I copy the data via a script? or there is a build in functionality to do it for me.  
In case I need to do it by hand, how should I solve the clashing ids problem?

Thanks)  
I have one cluster with one node.  
I've read that I can use an alias to perform search on different indices, or I can use the bulk API to copy the data via an external App.  
Is there any better way to handle this case?

It's not clear where you are moving things from/to if it's just a single cluster?
