# Metafields in Kibana4

Hi All,
I find the default view in discover tab to be too cluttered. (ie message and \_source are basically the same data). If i have a massive log line, that record would be quite hard to read.
How can i remove the \_source from being shown in the results? I tried taking \_source out of the metaFields variable in the settings tab but that did not do the trick.

You can pick what fields to display by highlighting the field in the table on the left and clicking add, they will then appears under the `Selected Fields` heading above that and update the main record table.
From there you can then save this search and reuse it.
