# Metricbeat 7.16.3 error determining cgroups version: error reading /proc/\<PID\>/cgroup:

These errors keep being generated in the metricbeat logs.

2022-02-02T16:11:22.405Z ERROR metrics/metrics.go:304 error determining cgroups version: error reading /proc/3950736/cgroup: open /proc/3950736/cgroup: no such file or directory
2022-02-02T16:11:32.401Z ERROR metrics/metrics.go:304 error determining cgroups version: error reading /proc/3950736/cgroup: open /proc/3950736/cgroup: no such file or directory

I see than an issue was raised a while back [Monitoring: allow specifying /proc or hostfs path. · Issue #23267 · elastic/beats · GitHub](https://github.com/elastic/beats/issues/23267).

In the meantime is there a workaround as to not be flooded by these errors?
