# Metricbeat dashboard with negative values

Help me please deal with the graphs on the dashboard - [Metricbeat System] Host overview  
Why are there negative values on the graphs? And what do they mean?  
And how can there be more than 100 percent CPU Usage?

Hello @1862347ba9566e72a47d,

1. Negative values are not actually negative. It's just a way to display reads/writes in the same diagram. If we think reads are positives then writes are negatives. The actual values are not negative.

2. CPU Usage can be more than 100% because here the metric we are using is not normalized per core. If you want to check the normalized cpu utilization, please check metric `cpu.total.norm.pct` instead of `cpu.total.pct` .
