# Migrate data from AWS ELK service to my server

Hello Everyone,

I have a AWS Elasticsearch service (NOTE that its a service i have not installed anything on AWS) , i have been using for 8-9 months, now that i have installed ELK on my own server, i want to move all data to my server, so that i need not recreate everything i have on AWS. Any help would be very much helpful.

Have you read the documentation about snapshots?

That or do a remote reindex.

Ya i have read that documentation, but i did not get how to download my backup which already exists in S3.

Sorry i am quite new to ELK, i read few articles about remote reindex but didn't feel that it serves my purpose.
