Hi @ruthvicsd,

thanks for your question.
If you create a user in Kibana, they are created as an Elasticsearch user. How these are persisted depends on your Elasticsearch settings, the default is the [`native` realm](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/configuring-native-realm.html).

There is no built-in way to transfer the users, the easiest way is to use the APIs [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/x-pack/current/security-api-users.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/x-pack/current/security-api-users.html)
[https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/x-pack/current/security-api-roles.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/x-pack/current/security-api-roles.html) as explained in these slightly outdated answer [Export/Import users/roles from Native User Authentication?](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/export-import-users-roles-from-native-user-authentication/91218)
