# Migration From Windows Cluster to Linux Cluster

I am looking at migrating our single node Windows Elasticsearch instance to a 3-node Linux cluster. We currently have about 10TB of data that is indexed as both traditional indices and also data streams.

- How would I go about migrating my data to the new cluster?
- Are there functional differences about running elasticsearch on Linux vs Windows?
- Being an experienced Windows administrator, and a just barely proficient Linux administrator, are there any gotchas I need to be aware of?
