# MIgration of ELK Platform to Platform

HI ,  
Could you please help me out how do i Migrate ELK stack from one platform to another platform.  
(i.e one O.S to another O.S).

FYI we’ve renamed ELK to the Elastic Stack, otherwise Beats feels left out 😉

There's two main ways;

1. Snapshot and restore
2. Reindex using the `_reindex` API, or something like Logstash

Are you staying on the same version (and what version is that)?

Elasticsearch Curator supports [reindex from remote](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/client/curator/current/option_request_body.html#_reindex_from_remote).
