# Missing privileges - Stack rules not showing as rule type on creating new alert

Within Kibana we would like to configure alert rules. When I navigate to the alerts and want to create a new rule. Some users do not have the option for Elasticsearch query based rules and/or index threshold rules.
It seems they have some missing privileges for those kind of rules. From the documentation it is named Stack Rules: [Rule types | Kibana Guide [master] | Elastic](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/master/rule-types.html#stack-rules). But I can't find what privileges is missing for those users. Anyone have an idea?
