# Mix free and paid licenses

Is it possible to mix licenses of different nodes of a cluster? For example, I have gold licenses for my master, ingest and collab nodes, but basic for the data nodes. If this is possible, would there be negative implications in the cluster?

No, the license is a cluster-wide property, managed by the elected master and stored in the cluster state.
