# Modify config from server side

Hello,  
newbie question.  
Say I have 100 instances of filebeat connected to elasticsearch via logstash.  
If i wanted to make a change to a config file in /etc/filebeat/conf.d, is there a way to do it  
from the server side or would i have to make the change locally and redeploy all the instances.

your response(s) would be appreciated.

No, there is nothing currently built-in to Filebeat to centrally manage its config. We will add something like that in future, but until then I recommend using a tool like Ansible/Puppet/Chef to manage your configs.
