# Monitoring queries sent to Elastic v5.6

hi guys,
just one question: currently I have a cluster with ES 5.6.3. We have scheduled the upgrade to 6.8 but I would like to know if in the meantime I can consider as good the guidelines at the following URL: [https://www.elastic.co/blog/monitoring-the-search-queries](https://www.elastic.co/blog/monitoring-the-search-queries)
I know that I could use `monitoring` feature when I will have v6.8 but for the moment I need something else.
