# Monitoring rook (ceph) with metricbeat

Hi,

how can i Monitor [http://rook.io](http://rook.io) with metricbeat?  
I like to use the ceph module and prebuild Dashboards, but have no idea how i can connect metricbeat and rook.

Any hints?

If rook exposes the Ceph REST API then in principle it could be monitored from an external metricbeat by configuring the Ceph module with `hosts` set to the API endpoint. This is not something we have tested, but we'd be happy to hear if it works 🙂

If they expose metrics on other HTTP endpoints, maybe you can try to use the metricbeat http module.

No, they do not expose the REST APi, i opend a Issue for this in their repo.

They expose prometheus metrics via an http entpoint, maybe the prometheus module works, i check this
