# Month Name in Date Histogram Visualization

How to display month name in the format "Jan", "Feb" on the x-axis in Date Histogram visualization instead of the default format "2020-01-01"

Hello,

have you tried changing the format of the date field used in the visualization in the Management page? This will change the format everywhere that field is used in Kibana, but it's pretty much the only solution.

Hi,

I tried changing the formats, nothing worked. It could be better if we have a quicker resolution on this issue to display the date parameter in the desired format.

As a workaround, I have written a scripted field which will convert the dates in the desired format I want and am using this scripted field in the x-axis parameter instead of the actual field.
