# Moving Visualization and Dashboard to new index

I need to move all the existing Visualization and Dashboard from one Index to Another index(new). I have tried export and import. but while import did not ask to select the new index to map these visualization and dashboard, it was overwriting to existing one.
Kindly guide me, where it went wrong.

The easiest way to do this right now is to [create a new space](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/master/xpack-spaces.html) with a new index.
When you import the saved objects to the new space, it'll then ask you what index you want to associate them with.
