Is it permitted (and if so, is it wise?) to have a completion field type as a part of a multi-field?

More specifically, could I have a `name` multi-field like so?

name -\> `text` (mainly for display purposes)
name.normalized -\> `keyword` (for exact matches)
name.suggest -\> `completion` (autocomplete, obviously)

or do I need to create a top level, single `name_suggest` field?

Is there more information I should add to this question to get a reply/make sense? Thanks.
