# Multi match query with quote field suffix

Hi there, I'm trying to do something pretty simple. If the search term is within quotes, then I want to do a phrase match. If the search term is not in quotes, then I just want to do a standard multi\_match.

This scenario seems to be handled with the query\_string and quote\_field\_suffix ([https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/mixing-exact-search-with-stemming.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/mixing-exact-search-with-stemming.html)). However, I want to use quote\_field\_suffix with multi\_match. Is this or something similar possible?
