# Multiple children relations for single parent in "join" type

The [join datatype documentation](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/6.x/parent-join.html) says that relations should be specified in `{"parent": "child"}` manner. Am I understand correctly, that this means that it is not possible to add multiple relations for a single parent?

It is still possible to have multiple relations in a single parent. See [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/6.x/parent-join.html#\_multiple\_children\_per\_parent](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/6.x/parent-join.html#_multiple_children_per_parent) which explains that the value can be an array of children.
