# Multiple DNS requests

We are using filebeat 6.2.3 to output data to Kafka. We are seeing issues when kafka is down, filebeat continues to make large number of DNS requests to resolve the kafka hosts.

Any thoughts/ideas on how we can possibly resolve this? Because every time this happens our network team gets alerted on the huge number of DNS requests being made.
