Hi Ramesh,

It's very hard to give you advices from a blank sheet.

What I can recommend is to read carefully the elastic [search.org](http://search.org) homepage. I learned all the basics from that page.
Have a look at the videos section. You will grab many information from this place.

Also, you can give a look at some of my talks slides. One is translated in english: [Elasticsearch - Devoxx France 2012 - English version | PPT](http://slideshare.net/dadoonet/elasticsearch-devoxx-france-2012-english-version)

Then, if there is something you don't understand, post here your questions. I suggest reading before: [Elasticsearch Platform — Find real-time answers at scale | Elastic](http://www.elasticsearch.org/help/)

HTH
David.

Shamelessly adding a Stack Overflow answer of my own, containing some
articles I've written and some by other authors:
[search - Beginner's guide to ElasticSearch - Stack Overflow](http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11593035/beginners-guide-to-elasticsearch/11767610#11767610)

The articles range from beginner to intermediate.

There is also a new eBook that was literally just released the other night.
I'm unaffiliated with it and have no idea about it's contents, but it
looks fairly complete: [Win Elasticsearch Server second edition e-book – Solr.pl](http://solr.pl/en/elasticsearch-server/)

Excellent excellent post. All the referenced authors should be contacted to
contribute to the existing documentation. I think the biggest challenge new
users face is analysis. Not everyone comes from a Lucene background, so
concepts such as non\_analyzed are lost to them.

Not a fan of Packt publishing, but Rafal is a frequent commenter on the
mailing list who really knows his stuff. The price of the ebook is cheap
enough that even if you learn only 1 or 2 things, it is still a good
investment. I feel that way with cookbooks. A good recipe is sometimes
worth more than the ingredients.
