# Newbie in ELK

hello "Elk"ites,

I am basically new to ELK (i worked on Splunk), I need some inputs on where do I start my journey to div into ELK, any inputs would greatly be appreciated!

Hey,

a good starting point might be [https://www.elastic.co/start](https://www.elastic.co/start) in combination with getting first data into Elasticsearch. In your case I suppose it is logfiles, so taking a first look at [filebeat](https://www.elastic.co/products/beats/filebeat) or [metricbeat](https://www.elastic.co/products/beats/metricbeat) is a good start.
