# Node roles

what is node roles = r means  
This role pop up after upgrade to 7.7

this node is suppose to be co-ordinating node only

10.29.249.104 7 29 0 0.37 0.51 0.25 **r** - elkm05

config has this

node.master: false  
node.voting\_only: false  
node.data: false  
node.ingest: false  
node.ml: false

ignore, found it after some more looking around it is  
node.remote\_cluster\_client: by default it is true, I have set that to false
