# Nodes are not joining cluster

Hello,

I am trying to build a 3-node Elasticsearch cluster. I am using Elasticsearch 7.3. When I check the health of the cluster, it tells me the number of nodes = 1.

Here are the node settings for all three:

# Start config

# Node 1:

cluster.name: elastic

node.name: node-1  
node.data: true  
node.ingest: true  
node.master: true

network.host: 10.10.1.176  
http.port: 9200

discovery.seed\_hosts: ["10.10.1.176", "10.10.1.175", "10.10.1.174"]  
cluster.initial\_master\_nodes: [node-1, node-2, node-3]

# Node 2:

cluster.name: elastic

node.name: node-2  
node.data: true  
node.ingest: true  
node.master: true

network.host: 10.10.1.175  
http.port: 9200

discovery.seed\_hosts: ["10.10.1.176", "10.10.1.175", "10.10.1.174"]  
cluster.initial\_master\_nodes: [node-1, node-2, node-3]

# Node 3:

cluster.name: elastic

node.name: node-3  
node.data: true  
node.ingest: true  
node.master: true

network.host: 10.10.1.174

Seeing this error in the logs from Node1:

[node-1] failed to join {node-3}{\_OMhWTqIQPy-jLCwmQJSRg}{xd5r4ZdrT0-W6sx5MkGkEQ}{10.10.1.174}{10.10.1.174:9300}{dim}{ml.machine\_memory=2267451392, ml.max\_open\_jobs=20, xpack.installed=true} with JoinRequest{sourceNode={node-1}{Wt3QxGcdRbuIwbKaz4r4BQ}{tp4ZhtCqTJGql7-Fmyyp4Q}{10.10.1.176}{10.10.1.176:9300}{dim}{ml.machine\_memory=2496040960, xpack.installed=true, ml.max\_open\_jobs=20}, optionalJoin=Optional.empty}
