I installed new Kibana and elasticsearch. Then I typed in the following commands in "dev tools":

PUT /ag2\_vehicle\_stats
{
"mappings": {
"doc": {
"properties": {
"vin": {
"type": "keyword"
},
"error\_reported": {
"type": "integer"
},
"new\_normalized\_dist\_on\_battery": {
"type": "double"
},
"new\_seg\_battery\_charge\_curr\_capacity\_in\_ah": {
"type": "double"
},
"curr\_capacity\_drive\_soh": {
"type": "double"
},
"curr\_capacity\_charge\_soh": {
"type": "double"
},
"day": {
"type": "date"
}
}
}
}
}

However, I got the following error msg:

{
"error" : {
"root\_cause" : [
{
"reason" : "forbidden",
"due\_to" : [
"OPERATION\_NOT\_ALLOWED"
]
}
],
"reason" : "forbidden",
"due\_to" : [
"OPERATION\_NOT\_ALLOWED"
],
"status" : 403
}
}

What's wrong here? Any ideas?

Sounds like the user you're currently logged in as doesn't have access to create that index.

You can check the privileges for that action with:

```auto
GET /_security/user/_has_privileges
{
  "index" : [
    {
      "names": ["ag2_vehicle_stats"],
      "privileges" : ["create_index"]
    }
  ]
}
```

But I would look at the user you're logged in as, and the roles which it has. I assume it's limited.

Thanks! I ran the privileges and got the following msg:

"reason" : "no such index [\_security]",

Now, the above problem is sovled. But I got new errors:
