I'm receiving null scores on sort queries (0.90.0). After reading a
previous post (
[https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/elasticsearch/637bVXh6GMI](https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/elasticsearch/637bVXh6GMI)), it
seems this is by design?

This doesn't make sense to me, as scores reflect severity on match
criteria, but wanted to confirm that this isn't some weirdness with my
version of ES.

Hello Roy,

Yes, when you sort, ES doesn't compute your scores to make the search
faster. If you need the scores, you can use "track\_scores", as Ivan pointed
out in the link you specified.

Best regards,
Radu
