# NullPointerException Build.java:48

I'm having an issue with using the RestHighLevelClient with the maven-jetty-plugin.  
This NPE only manifests when running locally with mvn jetty:run  
I don't have this issue when packaging as a war and deploying to a container.

Here's the relevant stacktrace.

The problem seems to originate from around [Build.java:94](https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch/blob/8f0685b924b9159807704ec2593b26e28105da44/core/src/main/java/org/elasticsearch/Build.java#L94)

Where the return value is null.

I'm thinking this has something to do with the classloading in jetty but I haven't been able to track down why.

Thanks for the report. We opened a [pull request](https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch/pull/27442) to address this. This will be fixed in 5.6.5.
