# Observability/Logs works only with modules?

I have a log file in json format. Each line is a separate message. I can parse the log and send it to elastic. But I don't understand how to output it to Observability/Logs

Hi @UltimateOrb Welcome to the community.
If you mean you want to see the logs in the Logs App viewer (streaming) then you need to configure the data sources see [Here](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/observability/current/configure-data-sources.html)
Basically add your index pattern to the settings, try that there are a few subtleties if that doesn't work.
