# On premise elasticsearch and kibana license

Ok so i read here that elasticsearch, with the basic license is free if self managed.
I understand if i am a cloud provider( which i am not ) that does not apply for me.
Are there other maybe limits in total cpu or ram usage for the basic license of elasticsearch and kibana, or maybe total ingested data etc?

The limitations of the basic license are on the features available, some features requires a Platinum license and others requires an Enterprise license.
There are no limits regarding the underlying hardware or the volume of ingested data.

Yeah, if you are a cloud provider and want to offer any Elastic tool as a managed service, you need to contact Elastic.
