# Option list (Controls visualization) does not refresh values

Hi,

i'm using Kibana v6.2.3, and tried out the controls visualization with option list.  
i expected to have the lists refresh the values based on my selection, but instead all values remain the same which is very confusing.  
For example, if i have 2 lists, one for country and one for capital city, and i select in country France, then instead of having capitals list refreshed to contain only Paris - it still contain all capitals.  
Is this working as designed, or a bug, or do i need to workaround it somehow?

It's working as designed currently. It's a newer feature so I would expect some interation on it. We have an enhancement request relating to this [here](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/17301).

I wonder why it was designed this way, when it is obvious that it is missing the point like that.
