# Pass file attributes with filebeat

Hi is there any way that I can ship the file's attributes (metadata) with the events in it ?  
I'm talking about attributes that I get from the getfattr command  
To add it like a field to each event in it or something ?

This is currently not possible. Seems very similar to the request here? [Filebeat: how to pass file properties to Logstash?](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/filebeat-how-to-pass-file-properties-to-logstash/108289/6) Coincidence?
