# Phonetic search activation on request

Is there a way to activate/deactivate phonetic search on request ?

You can use multifield feature to index your field in different ways:  
Soundex  
Standard  
French  
...

So you will be able to search on field.soundex or field or field.french...

Hi David,

I guess it means I had to activiate all those filters @ index time ? 😉 If  
I only have Metaphone for exemple, I can request field and field.metaphone  
?
