# Plotting Area Charts

I was able to get what I wanted , however I have a question. How to add a static line vertically to indicate the lower boundary and the upper boundary of the chart ? I was able to do so using the Timelion, but in the area chart I only see the option available for Y-Axis which a line called threshold which will draw a line as horizontally. Can you please guide me on this ?

Hi @Karthigesu_Rajendran, unfortunately there is no such feature yet in the area chart.  
We have some plans on adding annotation, not just only on the y axis but also on the other way around. We are replacing the current charting technology with our own chart implementation that will introduce this feature [https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/56143](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/56143)
