# Possibility to reset circuit breaker counters without restarting the node

Hi all,

I'm monitoring circuit breaker tripped counters in Icinga and I'm facing a little problem. These counters can't be reset to value 0 without reset of the elasticsearch process.

Is there any other option to reset the counter without resetting the node?

No, I don't think we should do that. In general we resist any mechanism to reset counters (cf. [https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch/issues/9693](https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch/issues/9693)), we think that what should be tracked is deltas.
