# Possible to disable data compression?

Elasticsearch document says the default compression is LZ4, and we can set to best\_compression which is DEFLATE, Is there a way to stop compression? Story behind is that we're testing some SAN storage for ELK, and the storage itself has compression capability, but now it's saying because of elk's compression, they are not get the best compression rate at the storage level. I'm not sure how true this statement is, so want to check it out by disabling ELK compression.
