# Possible to restrict dynamic fields to dynamic\_template defined ones?

Hi, is it possible to restrict dynamic fields mapping to those matching dynamic\_templates ?

This isn't supported but there is an ongoing discussion about this feature: [https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch/issues/27170](https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch/issues/27170)
