# Post expiry of X-PACK license

Hi,
Could you please let me know if the security feature will be disabled once the trial license for 30 days expires ?
What I read from the documentation is that "Commercial plugins operate with reduced functionality on license expiration:
- shield "
Does this mean that I will NOT be able to login to the Kibana console post the 30 day trial period ?
I am interested in only securing access to the Kibana and not in the monitoring stuff etc

Thanks for the pointer. It says

Could you please explain what does reduced functionality mean ? - Will the login to the Kibana console itself will be disabled ?

It explains what happens on the page;
> Once the license expires, calls to the cluster health, cluster stats, and index stats APIs fail with a security\_exception and return a 403 HTTP status code.
That's all it restricts.
