# Potential data deletion issue when using the offline plugin pack command

this for let everybody know how beautiful logstash is !

running this command

`bin/logstash-plugin prepare-offline-pack --output OUTPUT [PLUGINS]`

and specify as output =\> /home/vittorio , the result is just amazing.... everything deleted.

And I have to thank the fact that the command failed, otherwise my entire pc would have been a binary file 🙂

Everybody who wants to run this command, be careful because it will delete the specified directory and then write the output and yes, is like doing the magic and awesome `rm -rf`

Thanks Vittoro, this is a pretty bad bug.

I' have created [https://github.com/elastic/logstash/pull/6861/](https://github.com/elastic/logstash/pull/6861/) and will do releases for that asap.

really sorry for the bad time ☹
