# Problem with cluster.max\_shards\_per\_node

Good day  
I have a problem  
:\_type=\>"\_doc", :routing=\>nil}, #LogStash::Event:0x23cacf18], :response=\>{"index"=\>{"\_index"=\>"logstash-nginx-domain", "\_type"=\>"\_doc", "\_id"=\>nil, "status"=\>400, "error"=\>{"type"=\>"validation\_exception", "reason"=\>"Validation Failed: 1: this action would add [2] total shards, but this cluster currently has [1000]/[1000] maximum shards open;"}}}}

but in my elasticsearch setting

I see cluster.max\_shards\_per\_node=5100  
where mistake?

What is "total\_shards\_per\_node"?  
[https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/allocation-total-shards.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/allocation-total-shards.html)  
Normally it´s not set. But I have no other idea at this time.
