# Producing Arm builds with beats packer

Has anyone tried producing linux arm builds (deb or rpm) with the beats packer docker images?

Not with beats-packer yet, but Topbeat and Filebeat were reported to work on ARM via simple Go cross-compiling, and you can find nightly binaries [here](https://beats-nightlies.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html?prefix=jenkins/).
If you want to add support for the ARM platform to beats-packer, you'll have to fiddle a bit with the `build.sh` script from the docker images and then create "arm-deb" and "arm-rpm" platforms. There is a ticket for it [here](https://github.com/elastic/beats-packer/issues/43), btw. Also, note that we are in the process of moving the beats-packer to the main beats repository, [here](https://github.com/elastic/beats/tree/master/dev-tools/packer), but feel free to work with the old repository if you prefer.
