Hello: Q1.Do the shards auto relocate to other nodes when a node failure or shutdown? Q2.How can I monitor the unassigned shards progress of allocation? Thanks for all your help ---

Hi, 1. Yes if other nodes have space available and satisfy [rack constraints](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/modules-cluster.html#shard-allocation-awareness) 2. The easier way is the cluster API, for instance [cluster health endpoint](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/cluster-health.html) and [pending tasks](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/cluster-pending.html). ---
