# Question: Non-Productive Licence?

Dear Elastic,
what is the common proceedings in such cases related to licences: We will (again) buy a bunch of licences (this time platinum ones) for our production environments. In the past we also got non-production licenses on top. Do non-production licenses still exist? Are these for free? What is the common understanding?

Typically, non production licenses are covered under the production one.

Does it mean if I buy for example 15 production platinum licenses I get 15 non-production licenses in the same bundle? Did I understand it correctly?

You should get a production license, and a non-production license for clusters related to the use case. This doesn't apply for ECE or Elastic Cloud however.
