# Rally 0.5.2 released

We have just released Rally 0.5.2. This is a maintenance release and an upgrade is recommended for all users.

## How to...?

- ... upgrade: `pip3 install --upgrade esrally`
- ... install: `pip3 install esrally`

Note: Depending on your system setup you probably need to prepend these commands with `sudo`.

Please follow the [quickstart](https://esrally.readthedocs.io/en/stable/quickstart.html) for a first time install though.

## Changes

- Rally did not respect HTTP proxy settings when doing a connection check ([#245](https://github.com/elastic/rally/issues/245))
- We now show a clear error message in case users start Rally with an unknown challenge ([#244](https://github.com/elastic/rally/issues/244))

Additionally, we have also upgraded an internal component of Rally. Rally 0.5.1 uses a version of that component which can lead to hanging benchmarks in rare circumstances.
