# Recommended ElasticSearch version for production upgrade?

hi Team,  
we are using elasticsearch 2.1.0 standalone setup in our production servers from Aug-2016.  
we want to upgrade our elasticsearch software from 2.1.0 to latest 5.x version soon.  
i have seen many internal build releases in 5.x series.

• 5.0.0-beta1 Release Notes  
• 5.0.0-alpha5 Release Notes

• 5.0.0-alpha3 Release Notes  
• 5.0.0-alpha2 Release Notes  
• 5.0.0-alpha1 Release Notes  
• 5.0.0-alpha1 Release Notes (Changes previously released in 2.x)  
Can any one of you please recommend the stable version to be consider for upgrade?

5.2.2 is the one to go for.

It's GA.

We only release alpha/beta/RC for major releases of the stack.
