# Recovering from numerous dangling indices warnings

We rolled in an additional master yesterday and precipitated a brief period of no masters. Now of course there are thousands of dangling index warnings in our logs. Is there a best approach to dealing with this? The discussions I have seen on here about dangling indices warnings mainly take the tone/logic of "they're likely harmless, but annoying so...move on..." But is there no way to clean this situation up better? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
