# Regular expression has redundant nested repeat operator

Can anyone describe what does this error mean? and how to resolve it. thank you.

Could you post:

- version of Elasticsearch
- the mapping of the index you're using
- an anonymised sample document
- the query you're trying to issue?

At the very least you'll need to describe the data and post the query, but ideally those items should help us understand your problem and reproduce if needed.

Hi Emanuil,

ES version is: 7.5.1  
OS: CentOS 7.6  
I upgraded the cluster from ES 7.2 to 7.5.1,  
then i run: systemctl status elasticsearch -l and shows this error.

I'm not sure what index to provide you..
